ABOUT OUR FIRM

About Carlsbad Divorce Attorneys

A divorce law firm for families in Carlsbad and North County, focused on divorce, custody, support, and the decisions that shape your life after the case closes.

Who We Are

Carlsbad Divorce Attorneys represents spouses and parents across Carlsbad and North County San Diego in divorce and family law cases. Our clients include people planning an uncontested divorce, parents in contested custody disputes, business owners dividing complex assets, service members and military spouses, and people who need to change or enforce an order years after their divorce was finalized.

We built this firm around a simple idea: a divorce should end with a plan you can actually live with. That means custody schedules that work with school calendars and commutes, support orders based on accurate numbers, and property settlements that account for taxes, refinancing, and retirement. Our divorce lawyers keep that long-term view in mind from the first meeting through the final judgment.

How We Work With Clients

We Start With The Facts

Every case begins with a close review of your situation: your finances, your children’s needs, your timeline, and what the other side is likely to argue. We gather records early, including tax returns, account statements, and existing orders, because accurate information drives every decision that follows.

We Explain Your Options In Plain Language

Family law has its own vocabulary, deadlines, and forms. We translate it. Before each stage of your case, we explain what’s coming, what it means for you, and what decisions you’ll need to make.

We Prepare Every Case As If It's Going To Trial

Most divorces settle, and settlement is often the right result. Strong settlements come from thorough preparation, so we build each case with the evidence and arguments needed to present it in court. When the other side knows your case is ready for trial, negotiations tend to be more productive.

We Keep Your Goals At The Center

Some clients want to settle quickly and keep costs down. Others need to fight for custody or protect a business they spent years building. We ask what matters most to you and shape the strategy around those priorities, adjusting as the case develops.
More About Mike E. Cindrich From Carlsbad Divorce Attorneys
MICHAEL E. CINDRICH

Meet Mike Cindrich

Mike Cindrich leads our Carlsbad divorce attorneys, and his approach to family law comes from years in the courtroom. Before building his own practice, he was a prosecutor with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, where he was lead counsel on dozens of misdemeanor and felony cases. That background taught him how to build a case from evidence, question witnesses, and present facts in a way judges find credible, skills that carry directly into contested custody hearings and property trials.

He went on to found his own San Diego practice, which has provided family law representation alongside other areas of law. His work includes a record in preventing restraining orders from being imposed and getting already existing restraining orders lifted, which matters in family court, where a domestic violence restraining order can affect custody for years. He has also advised entrepreneurs on business law and regulatory compliance, experience that helps in divorces involving a family business, professional practice, or complex compensation.

His commitment to clients started early. While in law school in San Diego, he performed pro bono work for the California Innocence Project and received the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services from the State Bar of California. Licensed in California since 2006, Mike now brings that same commitment to families going through divorce in Carlsbad and North County.

OUR PRACTICE AREAS

What We Handle

Our divorce law firm represents clients in five main areas of family law:
CARLSBAD DIVORCE ATTORNEYS

Serving Carlsbad & North County

We represent clients throughout Carlsbad, including La Costa, Aviara, Bressi Ranch, Calavera Hills, and Carlsbad Village, along with families in Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, Escondido, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. Divorce and family law cases from these communities are generally heard at the San Diego County Superior Court’s North County Division in Vista, which handles divorce, legal separation, parentage, custody, support, and domestic violence restraining orders for the region.

Working in the same court and communities as our clients helps us set realistic expectations about scheduling, local procedures, and what each hearing will involve.

What You Can Expect When You Contact Us

Your first conversation with our team is a chance to explain what’s happening and get a clear picture of where you stand. We’ll ask about your marriage, your children, your finances, and any papers you’ve received or orders already in place. From there, we’ll walk you through your options, the likely next steps, and what your case may involve.

Bring whatever documents you have, such as court papers, recent pay stubs, tax returns, and account statements. If you don’t have them yet, that’s fine. We’ll tell you what to gather.
